Overview of CIITE Phase 3.1 (2008-2009)

 

CIITE Phase 3 consists of a proposed three years of activities in order to implement changes in the Ontario college system. Phase 3.1 (2008-09) has received one year of funding from the Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration to complete work in the following areas:

 


The goal of the above activities is to leverage the work of CIITE Phase 1 and 2 to implement system change in the Ontario college system to effect changes in programs, services, and tools in order to better serve the needs of ITIs.

CIITE Mid-Term Reflection Meeting– December 4th and 5th, 2008


The CIITE Conference took place at the Toronto Airport Marriott on December 4th and 5th.  Over 150 people from across the Ontario college system were in attendance. Many of the CIITE activities held meetings and workshops and there was a two-day cultural competency training session for ITI Advisors.


At the lunchtime presentations held both days, attendees heard a firsthand account of how CIITE is affecting ITIs, a presentation by the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB) and the unveiling of the Record of Education and Experience.

Governance

CIITE Phase 3 is led by CONNECT Strategic Alliances and governed by a Steering Committee consisting of representatives from all 24 Ontario colleges. Please click here for a complete list.

 

 

The role of the Project Office is to manage the day to day operations of CIITE, coordinate implementation of the various activities, ensure accurate reporting, and maintain accurate data collection. The Project Office ensures that resources are effectively utilized, issues are collaboratively resolved, and that deliverables are met in a timely manner as agreed upon with the Ministry.
