Overview of CIITE Phase 3.1 (2008-2009)

Phase 3.1 was the first year of a 3 year roll-out plan. The goal was to leverage the work of CIITE Phase 1 and 2 to implement system change in the Ontario college system to effect changes in programs, services, and tools in order to better serve the needs of ITIs.

 The following activities were undertaken in Phase 3.1.

CIITE Mid-Term Reflection Meeting– December 4th and 5th, 2008

The CIITE Conference took place at the Toronto Airport Marriott on December 4th and 5th.  Over 150 people from across the Ontario college system were in attendance. Many of the CIITE activities held meetings and workshops and there was a two-day cultural competency training session for Internationally Trained Immigrant Advisors.

At the lunchtime presentations, attendees heard a firsthand account of how CIITE is integrating ITIs to employment, a presentation by the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB) and the unveiling of the Record of Education and Experience.
